MapIE DATA CATALOGUE

The MapIE Data Catalogue gathers metadata from student-level longitudinal datasets on learning outcomes and educational inequalities in Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway) and Central European countries (Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg). The MapIE Data Catalogue is a shared resource that makes relevant longitudinal data on educational inequalities more visible and accessible. It makes it easier to find data that can be used to understand and reduce these inequalities. The MapIEData Catalogue is one of the key research outcomes of the MapIE project and an output of WP4.

Currently the development of the MapIE Data Catalogue is in the mapping phase, and the first version will be launched in February 2026 and completed version by February 2027.

Data Mapping

The MapIE Data Catalogue contains descriptions of student-level longitudinal dataset and registries selected through a well-defined, curated mapping process based on criteria outlined in the MapIE – Framework for Data Mapping (D3.1). Figure 1 briefly outlines the dataset inclusion criteria. The full description of the inclusion criteria can be found from the Deliverable 3.1 MapIE – Framework for Data Mapping.

The metadata and descriptions of the datasets are gathered from partner countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Hungary and Luxembourg) through a MapIE Data Mapping Form. The data mapping will be carried out in each country under the guidance of the project’s partner countries. The mapping coordinators in the partner countries will centrally distribute the link to the mapping form to parties that potentially possess relevant data.
