Our scoping literature review is now published in the Studies in Educational Evaluation Journal and is openly available here!
In this article, we reviewed 161 studies utilizing large-scale datasets on educational inequalities in Europe. Key findings reveal that studies have focused on the effects of socioeconomic status and measurements of academic outcomes. Further, our results indicate an underrepresentation of studies conducted in Eastern and Southern Europe, and a shortage of research into early education, intersectionality, and the effectiveness of intervention studies. Policymakers should support research that addresses these critical gaps.
